The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding Anaesthetic team as a Consultant Anaesthetist.

Working in a collaborative team environment, the Staff Specialist Anaesthetist will provide exceptional anaesthetic services within a multi-disciplinary team of medical officers and nursing staff to patients. The Staff Specialist Anaesthetist will ensure that patient care is centred, safe and timely. Key responsibilities of the role include providing specialist-level anaesthetic services, fostering of relationships with colleagues and other hospital specialists, provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching of junior medical staff, participate actively in audits, clinical meetings and safety activities. Sub-specialty interests can be facilitated (eg chronic pain, ICU). Opportunities to pursue private practice is also available.

The Hospital:
172 bed, modern facility, and tertiary teaching hospital. The hospital assists a catchment population of up to 100,000 and provides several Acute Services including Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, Intensive Care, Mental Health and Paediatrics.
The Hospital has a new state of the art Intensive Care Unit with 8 ICU/HDU beds, it is a Level 1 Teaching Hospital.

Skills & Qualifications required:

  1. Registered with AHPRA as a Specialist
  2. FANZCA (or equivalent)
  3. Relevant Leadership experience
  4. Preferably worked in a regional setting.
