Salary Type: Remuneration value up to $461,256 p.a.
An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Senior Specialist or Specialist (Orthopaedics) to join the Department of Orthopaedics.
The role of the Specialist (Lower Limb/Foot Ankle interest) is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients/clients of the Hospital and Health Service directly or indirectly. This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.

Remuneration value up to $461,256 p.a.
Including: motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., professional indemnity cover and private practice arrangements. Overtime and on-call allowances will be negotiated with the successful applicant upon appointment. Superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) will be applied additionally to the total remuneration value.

Eligible Applicants who move to Queensland from an interstate or international jurisdiction to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Scheme
The Hospital was established in 1900, it has undergone a multimillion-dollar redevelopment to become a modern Hospital that provides high quality care within an environment of continuous improvement. Services available at the Hospital include 5 intensive care beds, coronary care, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general, orthopaedic and vascular surgery, 24-hour emergency medicine, renal dialysis unit, a level 2 special-care nursery of neonates and a comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Service.
Allied Health services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, speech therapy, psychology, social work, pharmacy, medical imaging and pathology.

AHPRA – Current specialist registration with AHPRA or Eligible for registration as a Specialist to practice as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
- Previous experience in Lower Limb/Foot Ankle specialty is highly desirable. Previous work experience within acute hospital environment.
- Proven ability to work in a collegiate partnership with other clinicians, nursing staff and managers.
- Ability to provide clinical leadership and to facilitate multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Proven participation in clinical governance activities including death audits, M&M meetings, clinical incident reporting and investigation.
