Registered enrolled Nurse required to start immediately at a busy Business
PLEASE NOTE A FACE TO FACE INTERVIEW IS A REQUIREMENT FOR CONSIDERATION FOR THIS POSITION.
We are looking for an experienced RN/ EN or a Graduate RN who is able to be trained into the role of General Practice Nurse. We are not open weekends or after hours.
We do pay our Grad Nurses at the current Nursing Award Rate (currently $27.50 an hour plus 10% superannuation from 1 July 2021). Full Time Nursing award gives 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata for hours worked) and full time benefits (sick leave etc). Experienced Nurses will have rate discussed at point of interveiw.
Deception Bay Doctors has 2 GP’s and 2 RN’s. We are a busy Medical Centre and on any given day we are fully booked out so you will need to be prepared to be busy and expect a full day.
If you are:
Clinically competent – Hold your Registered Nursing Degree
Be prepared to work independently
Willing to learn
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have strong time management skills
Interested in Primary Health Care and chronic disease management
Able to work as part of a team and individually
Prepared to assist regularly in our Skin Cancer Clinic
Run our CVC Program
Happy to learn to help out on reception when short staffed
Have your own Nursing Indemnity Insurance
Immunized of Willing to be immunized against seasonal Flu and Covid 19.
Be Willing to learn or able to do the following:
Phone and in-person triage
Blood Pressure Checks and basic observations
Theatre Assist & restocking of theatre
Childhood immunisations including basic growth checks
IM/SC medication administration
Patient education on self-administration of IM/SC immunisation
Complex health assessments on over 75’s, 40- 49 year olds, people of ATSI heritage, people with a disability
Venesections (GP does cannulation)
Basic pre-employment medicals
Care of patient in an emergency situation (i.e. acute asthma attack, sudden LOC)
Pap Smear training would be an advantage but not a necessity
Other duties as required by your Practice Manager or Senior Nurse.
