Consultant Infectious Disease - Brisbane, QLD

The Role:
We are seeking an Infectious Disease to provide direct high-quality care to clients with infectious diseases (including HIV/AIDS, Hep B and C and Tuberculosis) in both acute and non-acute service settings.

The Infectious Diseases Physician will work within an inter-professional Blood Borne Virus and Sexual Health service, Hospital in the Home (HiTH), Specialist Outpatient service and provide inpatient consultancy of these and other infectious diseases at the Hospital and within Health Service.

You will also provide leadership for the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program in collaboration with other key clinicians.

This position has the ability to be full or part time on a permanent basis. Work in a team with a strong emphasis on strengthening the “grow your own” medical workforce with an active Medical Education Unit and registrar training as a major focus within the health service.

The Hospital:
This is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for the region, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment.

Location:
Situated close to stunning beaches, perfect for snorkelling, scuba diving and boating and surrounded by the Ranges/Mountain thus creating an impressive backdrop for the vibrant City and coast.

Mandatory qualification:
Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Infectious Diseases with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency. In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in the speciality of Infectious Diseases, or support from the College for Staff Grade Infectious Diseases Physician status.
