A wonderful opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Consultant/Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G), to join a smaller department and be part of friendly committed team.

Interstate and international healthcare workers who move into Queensland (including Brisbane) will receive a $10,000 incentive on commencement.
You will receive another $10,000 after completing a full 12 months of service in Queensland.

As Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist you will assist the Director O&G to lead and manage services at the Hospital, gain exposure to a broad range of conditions and contribute to the development, growth, and success of the department.
Assist with the education and supervision of surgical trainees and other medical staff, medical students, and allied health, interested community groups and nursing staff.
Assist in the day-to-day management of O&G services including active participation in patient safety, clinical audit, research, and service planning activities.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology: The Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Department offers RANZCOG accredited registrar training as well as experience for Rural Generalists and GP Obstetricians. All trainees are well supported by consultant staff.
The Department provides maternity care services for just under 1,500 deliveries annually, through a mixture of Shared Care, Continuity Midwife teams and multidisciplinary High-Risk Clinics. The Maternity Unit is supported by a level four (32 weeks) special care nursery.
The department also provides level five laparoscopic and major gynaecological surgical services with twelve to fourteen scheduled operating theatre lists per fortnight. There are daily general gynaecology and antenatal clinics, plus uro-gynaecology and colposcopy services, as well as a community-based Indigenous antenatal clinic service. The opportunity also exists for upskilling in obstetric ultrasound.

Skills/Qualifications:
MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and registrable as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA).
