The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant/Specialist Rehabilitation Physician to join a multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead specialist rehabilitation services within a 10-bed rehabilitation unit.
This role is ideal for an experienced rehabilitation specialist who is passionate about neurorehabilitation, complex medical care, and multidisciplinary patient management. You will play a key role in clinical service delivery, education, and leadership while contributing to policy development, research, and innovation in rehabilitation medicine.

Total Salary Package: up to$528,464 per annum (including base salary, motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, and attraction/retention incentives).
Relocation & Rural Allowances (as applicable).
Professional Development Leave: 3.6 weeks per year.
Annual Leave: 5 weeks per year, including 17.5% loading.
On-call and overtime allowances.
Salary Sacrificing Benefits available.
Employer Superannuation Contribution up to 12.75%.
The hospital is a digital hospital, equipped with leading edge technology to assist staff to provide the highest level of care and comfort to our patients. It is the first regional hospital in Queensland to have the complete integrated electronic medical record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert rehabilitation care to patients with complex neurological, musculoskeletal, geriatric, and post-surgical conditions.
- Lead a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, working closely with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, and nursing staff.
- Manage a half-day outpatient clinic, providing follow-up rehabilitation services and general rehabilitation consultations.
- Conduct a monthly procedural botulinum toxin clinic for spasticity management (if suitably qualified).
- Oversee the accredited rehabilitation registrar training program, including teaching, accreditation, and annual recruitment.
- Develop procedural and policy guidelines, and lead quality improvement and research initiatives within the rehabilitation service.
- Provide education and supervision to junior medical staff, medical students, allied health professionals, and nursing staff.

Eligibility Criteria:
Current Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM), Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
