The Role:
We are seeking dedicated Emergency Medicine Registrars (PGY4 or above) who have General Registration with AHPRA to join a supportive team in a beautiful regional location.

The Hospital has just completed a major redevelopment, including the building of a new emergency department, ICU, and expansion of medical and paedicatric units and are seeking to expand the Emergency Department Medical Workforce.
The Emergency Department is supported by a broad range of inpatient specialties including Internal Medicine, Critical Care Unit (including ICU, HDU and CCU beds), General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, Anaesthesia, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Geriatrics/Rehabilitation, Medical Oncology, and Mental Health services.

The service contributes to undergraduate and post-graduate medical education and to nursing and allied health education. University of Melbourne’s popular rural clinical school is located onsite its education facilities include a simulation lab and skills centre.

The Senior Medical Staff comprises of FACEMS, FACRRMS, FRACGP all of whom have completed ACEM’s EMC, EMD or EMAD programs.

You will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Ability to work in a high-pressured environment.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, high-volume work environment.
  • Prioritise and manage deadlines!

The Hospital:
This is a growing regional service with 255 beds and is the major referral facility for the region. Our Emergency Department sees an increasing number of presentations, with an average of 80-110 per day (>28,000 per year and growing). There is a wide variety of presentations including trauma and approximately 25% of our presentations are paediatrics.

An emergency department, critical care unit (ICU, HDU, CCU), obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and specialised aged care, medical oncology services, community rehabilitation, and inpatient, community, aged and psycho-geriatric mental health services.
