Registrar/PHO Internal Medicine (Emergency Medicine experience required) - Brisbane, QLD

  • Salary Type: Salary package up to $155,702 plus penalty allowance

The Role:
We are seeking a Registrar/PHO with General Medicine and Emergency Medicine experience to take on a unique opportunity – working across 2 Primary Care Centres, one based on Stradbroke Island.

The PHO is an essential member of a multidisciplinary team providing high quality primary and secondary medical care to individual patients as well as population health service to the local community. The role includes ensuring patient safety and continual development of your clinical knowledge and skills.

  • General registration is essential.
  • 24/7 on-call

Responsibilities within the scope of practice of a Principal House Officer:

  • Provide a high-quality medical service based on the principles of evidence-based medicine and best practice.
  • Manage patients to ensure that problems are fully assessed and identified; and develop comprehensive clinical care and management plans.
  • Appropriate selection and arrangement of investigations.
  • Assemble clinical information and the results of investigations to diagnose clinical conditions.
  • Maintain appropriate comprehensive and concise clinical documentation including observations, opinions, diagnoses, other data and procedures undertaken.
  • Maintain appropriate summary documentation, particularly when the patient is transferred, including discharge summaries and letters.
  • Other clinical duties as required.

Key attributes/Workplace Behaviours Clinical Knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge, diagnostic skills and procedural skills in emergency and general medical care to ensure safe patient care during patient assessment and management. Communication Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication and an ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, relatives, carers, and other health professionals.

Essential:
Current AHPRA general registration
General Medicine/Emergency Medicine experience
