About the role…

A challenging opportunity is available for a Child & Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist to work in Sydney’s sought-after northern region. This position is associated with a major metropolitan teaching hospital assisting children, adolescents and their families living with significant mental health, behaviour, emotional and relationship difficulties. As the successful applicant you will be working in a specialised psychiatry inpatient unit with adolescent patients aged between 12 and 17 years who require inpatient support to manage their mental illness.

Responsibilities of this role include clinical management and treatment of adolescent patients; providing leadership to and working alongside a multidisciplinary team; supporting the clinical teaching and supervision of junior doctors, students and other medical personnel; acting in a consultation liaison capacity; and participation in research and quality service improvement activities.
